Taking photos: common questions

Quick answers to 22 common questions about taking photos in LibreCam.

How do I make sure my photo goes to the right job?

For Crew, Subs

The job name shows at the top of the camera. Your photos go to that job, so check it before you shoot. To start on a job for sure, open it on Projects and tap the camera button there.

How does the camera pick a job?

For Crew, Subs

If you open the camera without picking a job, it picks one for you. It picks the closest job within about 10 miles. If more than one job is within about 500 feet, it picks the one with the newest photos. With no location, or no job that close, it picks the job with the newest photos. It skips a teammate's new job with no photos yet, unless those are the only jobs you have. It picks once and won't switch while you shoot.

For Crew, Subs

For Crew, Subs

LibreCam makes a new job on your first shot. It's named from the street address and the date, like "123 Main St - 2026-10-30". If location is off or the address can't be found, it's named Unnamed project. Your next shots go to the same job. Rename it or move the photos later.
